TASTE: A fantastic cow's milk cheese which has a wonderful creamy texture and a salty, slightly sweet and nutty flavour. It has a good nose and becomes more pungent the longer the cheese wheel is aged.
ABOUT Raclette: Raclette is a very specific kind of cheese and gets its name from the French racler which means “to scrape.” Originally known as "roast cheese" that shepherds once ate sitting among their cows has not changed much since the Middle Ages. Today called "Raclette", it is still just as creamy and melting. It is a dish made to share in the warm ambiance of winter nights sitting by the fire, with family and friends
QUALITY: Entremont has been producing cheeses in Haute Savoie since 1948. Almost seventy years later, they strive to preserve this traditional expertise. 100% of the milk used to make their cheese is French. These whole wheels average 7kg in weight, please allow for +/- 5% in their weight portions.
INSPIRATION: This semi-hard cow's milk cheese is the traditional use for raclette is for use in a dish by the same name, it is soft and therefore perfect for melting. Slice it and warm it using raclette cooking sets until it is smooth and creamy, then pour it over vegetables, bread or whatever takes your fancy. Raclette is a dish that can be shared with family and friends, for a quick but original and extremely tasty dinner!
