How to have Cheese during Veganuary

Shropshire Marketing

Veganuary has become a global campaign that encourages people to try a vegan diet for the duration of January. It promotes plant-based eating as a way to improve personal health, protect the environment, and reduce animal suffering.

Veganuary began in the UK in 2014, founded by Jane Land and Matthew Glover, who were inspired by the growing interest in plant-based eating and animal welfare. The campaign has since gained global traction, with participants from over 200 countries and territories taking part annually.

Since its launch, over 6 million people have signed up to participate in Veganuary. However, it’s estimated that many more try a vegan diet during January without officially signing up.

In 2024, over 950,000 people officially pledged to try veganism.

In recent years, Veganuary has inspired thousands of restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets to expand their vegan offerings. For example, in the UK alone, over 1,500 new vegan products were launched during the campaign in 2023.

Studies show that about 30% of participants continue to reduce their meat and dairy consumption after January, with many adopting a fully vegan lifestyle.
